Contemporary jewellery

More recently, I am creating contemporary jewellery pieces made from natural materials. At the moment I am exploring hand-stained timber veneers.

I mix my own colours and stain individual sheets of veneer. Using traditional marquetry/parquetry techniques I cut and apply the stained veneer onto different substrates. I then hand-saw the forms and assemble the designs using 925 silver. The vibrant colours of the veneers lend themselves to bold patterns and the wood has a wonderfully tactile finish.

I acknowledge the peoples of the Yuin Nation as the traditional custodians of the land where I now live and create and pay my respects to Elders past and present.

I recognise that sovereignty has never been ceded. It always was and always will be, Aboriginal land.
