care instructions

Timber being a natural product evolves over time and our wooden homewares will develop their own patina. To minimise colour change and warping of the timber we recommend storing our pieces out of direct sunlight and with both sides exposed to airflow.

Our pieces are treated as little as possible to preserve the natural look of the timber. To maintain the protection of the timber finish we recommend cleaning with a damp cloth or warm water and a mild detergent. Please do not place the pieces in the dishwasher or leave them to soak in water for an extended period of time.

Should you wish to renew the finish on your homeware product we recommend an application of our natural beeswax and flaxseed oil polish. Please make sure the product is clean and dry before you apply the polish. Sanding the clean timber surface with a 240 grit sandpaper prior to polishing will give a smoother finish, but it is not essential.

Apply the polish sparingly with a dry cloth, a little goes a long way, and let the polish soak in for a couple of hours. Afterwards wipe off any remaining polish with another clean cloth until the timber surface feels non-sticky. This application can be repeated within 24 hours for best results.

The newly-polished piece should be left to dry for a few days before using it again.

We hope our hand-crafted, natural products will give you a lot of enjoyment!
